Privacy Policy
This policy explains how personal data is handled on Fairnoise AI (the “Platform”), a B2B directory and AI search service for industrial companies. We are established in the United Kingdom and offer the Platform mainly to businesses in the European Union, so we follow both the UK GDPR and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). This is the information both require under Articles 13 and 14; article numbers are the same in the two texts.
The Platform is intended for businesses and professionals, not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data of anyone under 18, and will delete it if we learn that we have.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is Europromas Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11219535), registered office 111 Hangar Drive, Tangmere, Chichester, PO20 2EB, United Kingdom. For anything about your personal data, write to hello@fairnoise.com. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer.
2. What we process and why
Giving us personal data is voluntary. In our forms, the fields marked as required are the ones we need to handle your request; without them we cannot send or answer it.
2.1 Visiting the Platform
When you open a page, your browser sends us technical data: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time. We use it to deliver the Platform, keep it secure and stop abuse. To limit automated traffic we keep your IP address for one day. We also count profile views and clicks on a company’s website, email or phone for that company’s statistics; these counts contain no identifier. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure service (Art. 6(1)(f)).
2.2 Contacting a listed company
The form on a company profile collects your name, email, message and, if you choose to give them, your company, phone and country, together with your browser type. We store the request and forward it by email to the company you address and to the Fairnoise team. From that point the company is an independent controller of your data and handles it under its own privacy policy. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a possible contract (Art. 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in keeping a record of the requests passed through the Platform (Art. 6(1)(f)).
2.3 Asking to list your company
The “List your company” form collects your name, work email, company name, website and any notes. We use them to reply, prepare the company profile and send you our offer. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).
2.4 AI Search
The text you type into AI Search is sent to OpenAI to interpret the request, compare it with company profiles and explain each match, and to Tavily when we look for additional companies on the web. We keep the text of the request, together with the companies it surfaced, for up to 12 months so that listed companies can see how often they appear and so we can improve the results. It is not linked to your identity: there is no account and no IP address is stored with it. Please do not include personal data in a search request. Results are suggestions only and have no legal or similarly significant effect on you (Art. 22 does not apply). Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing and improving the search (Art. 6(1)(f)).
2.5 People named in company profiles
A company profile can name business contact persons and their role, email and phone. This data comes from the company itself or from its public website. We publish it so that buyers can reach the company. Legal basis: the agreement with the listed company (Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in operating a business directory (Art. 6(1)(f)). If you are named in a profile you can ask us at any time to correct or remove your details.
2.6 Administrator accounts
People who manage the Platform sign in with an email and password. We keep the account and a sign-in session for that purpose only (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)).
3. Who receives the data
Personal data is seen only by the Fairnoise team who need it, by the listed company you choose to contact, and by the service providers below, who act on our instructions under a data processing agreement (Art. 28). We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising. We disclose it to authorities only where the law requires.
| Provider | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Inc. | Hosting and delivery of the website | Application in the EU (Frankfurt); global delivery network; company in the USA |
| Supabase, Inc. | Database, file storage and administrator sign-in | EU (Paris, France); company in the USA |
| OpenAI | Interpreting AI Search requests, writing match explanations, computing search embeddings | USA |
| Tavily | Web search for the “found on the web” results of AI Search | USA |
| Resend | Delivery of notification emails for contact requests | USA |
4. Where the data goes
The database and the application run in the European Union. We are in the United Kingdom, which the European Commission recognises as providing an adequate level of data protection. Some providers are based in the United States: those transfers rely on the provider’s certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension or, where that does not apply, on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards in use.
5. How long we keep it
| Data | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Contact requests and requests to list a company | 24 months from receipt, then deleted automatically |
| Text of AI Search requests | 12 months, then deleted automatically (the anonymous counts remain) |
| IP address used to limit abusive traffic | 1 day |
| Technical logs kept by the hosting provider | Short term, up to 30 days |
| Company profile data, including business contact persons | While the company is listed; removed within 90 days after the listing ends |
| Administrator accounts | While the person holds admin access |
6. Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or erase your data, to restrict its use, to receive it in a portable format, and you can object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 15–21). Write to hello@fairnoise.com, or by post to our registered office; we reply within one month. If you think your data has been handled unlawfully you can complain to the data protection authority of the country where you live or work, for example the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Italy, or in the United Kingdom to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
7. Security
The Platform is served over encrypted connections only. The database is hosted in the European Union, public access to it is restricted by row-level security, and only authorised administrators can read contact requests.
8. Cookies
We only use strictly necessary cookies. See the Cookie Policy.
9. Changes
We will update this policy when the Platform changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
